BABOON SANCTUARY (Howler Monkey) & CANOEING ON THE BELIZE RIVER: The Baboon Sanctuary was founded in 1985 in order to protect the Black Howler Monkeys, know locally as ‘Baboons’. Local farmers organized to help preserve the Black Howler and its habitat. Care is taken to maintain the forests along the banks of the Belize River where the Black Howlers feed, sleep and – at dusk and dawn – howl (loudly and unmistakably). The sanctuary is also home to around 200 bird species, plus anteaters, deer’s, peccaries, coati’s, iguanas and the endangered river turtle.

BARTON CREEK CAVE & GREEN HILLS BUTTERFLY RANCH: A more leisurely tour. At the large entrance of the cave you board your canoe and slowly paddle into the cave passage.

BIRDING: Pook's Hill Lodge has been endorsed by ornithologists as in a league of its own. There is superb   birding from the lodge clearing and along the riverside. We provide a checklist and books to help identification. Resident guide.

BLACK HOLE DROP: Spectacular!  Incredible!  A rush like no other!!!

BLUE HOLE, JUNGLE TRAILS: A short distance from Belmopan along the scenic Hummingbird Highway is the Blue Hole National Park.  Underground tributaries of the Sibun River bubble to the surface and fill a deep limestone sinkhole about 33 meters deep. There is a jungle trail through the national park leading to a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the surrounding area.

CARACOL MAYAN TEMPLES: Caracol is the largest Maya site in Belize. The site covers some 35 sq miles, with 36,000 structures marked so far.

CAVE TUBING: This cave trip is a fun-filled tour for all age groups. Anyone who can appreciate hiking and enjoy floating through caves on inner tubes will love this trip.

GREEN HILLS BUTTERFLY RANCH: Belize’s biggest and best butterfly exhibit. The main attraction is the enclosed flight area where scores of gorgeous tropical butterflies flutter around.

CRYSTAL CAVE: A guide exploration into this very spectacular cave system will take you miles through huge caverns that are adorned with crystalline formations.

HORSEBACK RIDING: The riding trail meanders under the jungle canopy, through the river and valley. The rides are suitable for both novice and experienced riders.

MOUNTAIN PINE RIDGE: Visit Thousand-Foot Falls, Rio Frio Cave and enjoy a swim at Rio On Pools. Stop at the Green Hills Butterfly Ranch.

TIKAL MAYAN TEMPLES: This tour is a must see! If you like Archeology, combined with jungle and wildlife, this is the tour for you. Set in high canopy jungle, with over 3,000 structures, including many extensive temples, this is one of the most famous and impressive Maya sites in Mesoamerica.

XUNANTUNICH & CAHAL PECH: In the morning visit to Xunantunich, and in the afternoon visit to Cahal Pech; Sitting on top of a hill, about a mile from San Ignacio lie the ruins of Cahal Pech. Cahal Pech was the royal acropolis-palace of an elite Maya family during the classic periods. It offers a panoramic outlook of the town and the Belize River Valley below.

XUNANTUNICH & MACAL CANOEING: Xunantunich; Belize’s most accessible Mayan site of significance is reached via a hand winched ferry crossing at San Jose Succotz. The dominant structure, El Castillo, rises 130 feet above the jungle floor.  The views from the top are superb, with forest stretching into the distance and the rest of the ancient city mapped out beneath you. Afternoon canoeing on the Macal River.

ZIP-LINE: A thrilling opportunity to soar through the jungle treetops high above the forest floor.
